1.
When I look in your eyes I see a sunrise A shining beacon, a lighthouse beam It's no surprise that You stand out to me And you're all that I see When you look my way Your smile is a sun ray When I look in your eyes I see a sunset Reminds me of all the things we've said And when we first met I am thankful just to know your name And I hope you feel the same I just want to tell you how much I care That you are always there
2.
I have an enemy inside my throat Causing me to say the words that aren't my own Either tongue-tied or slurring the speech That I don't mean to say Why do I do the things I hate? I can't seem to get my life straight I need some help now Send a reinforcement I have an enemy inside my lungs Taking in all the things that I don't need But I'm just dying to breathe You in I'm always hit when I'm down And shoved all around It's always been this way It's not always my fault But I should of called On You when it mattered the most I have an enemy inside my head Dictating all my thoughts and administering all my crimes Setting snares but coming up short
3.
Strange things have happened In my life, but this one tops them all My ship is sinking My sails are going down I don't know which way is up now I don't know which way is down What's been going on all along? Everything and nothing is wrong At the same time Communications are failing Where do we go from here? This fight is tearing us in two
4.
We walked in the sun step by step On a winter’s day When our young smiles glowed like the sky As it came our way And once upon a time the world spun slower And once upon a time I still could still clear my thoughts In this world far across the sea It seems like once we were happy So we sail on our sea of memories We ride in our ships of the past Convincing ourselves that these thoughts aren’t our enemies Wake me & remind me that these things don’t last When life's a movie You're always on the screen The cast & the extras What do we all mean? There’s hope that I can learn from the past Dissemble the ship but hold onto the mast Writing chapters in pursuit of the dove Wash me in grace, drown me, drown me in Your love
5.
We're on the ark Searching for shelter while the flood is rising We're on the boat Far from our homes but we aren't stranded And I'm sending out a dove I'm sending out a dove Looking for promises I know that You'll always keep And I'm waiting for Your love I'm waiting for Your love Looking for something That's right in front of me In the interim It seems so hard to see the promised land In the desert This stagnant air won't let me move onward Look at the rainbow Your sign from the sky Why do I worry? I know You could never lie
